Each manual consists of the so called articles which provide some technical information to the users. Please note that a new article can be added only when at least one manual is created. Otherwise, you won't be able to add any article.
To add a new article, please select the manual for your article and click the Add New Article link on the right column. Then you should fill the necessary fields.
Parent Article allows you to select the necessary section from the list of the main sections if you want this article to be a subsection. If a new article will be one of the main sections then don't make any selection.
Article Order specifies the number of your subsection. Note that if there is only one article then it will be under the first number. If there are several available articles, then you can select from several numbers.
Article Title requires the name of your article.
Sometimes, you may need to place the same article to one more manual. Then you can select an appropriate article from the list of available manuals and insert it in the Articles Alias field. In this case you do not need to enter the text of your manual in the Full Description field.
Friendly URL include a search engine friendly URL of the page.
Meta Title, Meta Keywords and Meta Description fields assign corresponding HTML tags of the main page of your site.
Short Description and Full Description fields require a short and full description for your article.
Note: The text in Full Description field should be in html code, otherwise it won't be seen by a browser.
If you want to view your article in a browser check off the Allow View Checkbox. If for some reason you do not want to show the article leave this checkbox unchecked.
To show the article in contents, please check off the Show in Contents field.
You may sometimes needed to upload an image to your article. There are two options here. You can upload either a small image or a large one. You can also specify ALT tags (alternative text) for all the pictures. Alt tags are important for those who can't see the image (for example, Unix or Linux users whose systems have no image capability), or users who have images turned off in their browser preferences.
When filling all the fields, you should click the Add button and your article will be added.
Editing an article
Definetely, you will decide to change something in the article, in other words you will want to edit the article. To do this, choose an appropriate article and click on it. Make the necessary changes and click the Update button. Your changes will be saved.
Click the Delete button if you do not need this article and want it to be removed from the manual.
Cancel button is required if you decide not to save the changes you made in the article.
