6.1.2. Packing slips
Prev Index Next

In general, a packing slip is enclosed in a clear plastic envelope, which is then affixed to the outside of the shipping box. ViArt Shop allows generating packing slips with a single mouse click. All you have to do is to choose a format (HTML or PDF) and click the corresponding image.

You should get something like the following:

A few more things to keep in mind when working with packing slips:

  • You can adjust the feel and look of your packing slips in the 'Printable Page Settings' section (see section 6.5).
  • Should you generate a packing slip in PDF format, you will be prompted to open the file or save it to disc. Choose the options you need.
  • Should you generate a few packing slips in HTML format, they will be displayed on one page; however, when printing every packing slip will have its own page. Use the 'Print Preview' command in the 'File' menu of your browser.
  • You can generate a separate packing slip if a specific status is applied. By default it is the 'Dispatch' status. However, keep in mind that the packing slip will be generated even if the status is changed to another one. For example, let's suggest that you decided to ship only one product of the whole order. So, you generated a packing slip for it by setting the product status to e.g. 'Dispatch'. Then you changed your mind and decided to wait when the other products are ready for the shipping. In that case you restore the previous status of the first product, wait for the others and set the whole order status to 'Dispatch'. What will be the results? The system will generate three separate packing slips: (1) only for the first products; (2) for the rest of the products; (3) for the whole order. You may just ignore the ones you do not need.
