Global Settings

With forum settings you have the possibility to customize your forum according to your requirements. First of all, you should set the global settings. To do that, please go to Administration > Forum > Forum Settings.

With so much spam in the Internet now, it's no wonder that a lot of sites are using dynamic image validation codes to verify that a user is a human, and not an automated script written by a hacker. You are allowed to choose whether to show it for all users, only for unregistered users or do not show it at all. This can be done through Random Image Validation field.

Show Topic Information Block field provides you with a possibility to select whether you want your topic information block be always shown at the top or never to be shown on the top. Select the variant you find suits you better.

You have an option to show a reply form above or below the message list in the Show Reply Form field.

Messages Order field allows you to sort the messages in the ascending or descending order.

You may decide to show a user info with image on the left or to show user info (no image) on the top. For this please use the Show User Info field.

If a user does not have any image, you can enter the path to the default image for him in the Default Image field.

Notification

Sometimes, it may be necessary for your administrators or users to receive notifications about any changes or updates with some issue. You can do it using Administrator E-mail Notification and User Email Notification sections correspondingly.

For notifying the administrator or the customer by-email, please enter the necessary information as to whom, from whom, subject and the text of the message. ViArt Shop can send email messages in both HTML and Plain text formats.

Setting the 'Message Type' radio button to 'HTML' allows sending emails in HTML format, thus HTML tags will be used for formatting the message as HTML. The 'Plain text' option discards any HTML formatting - the message will be sent as it is.

Another option of e-mail notifications is that you can use special ViArt Shop tags. These tags are placed in braces and when an e-mail message is sent are replaced by tags values. For example, the {first_name} tag will be replaced by the first name of the user. You can look through the full list of such tags by clicking the 'click here to learn more about email settings and see all available message tags' link. Note that you can add these tags into your email body and email subject.

When filling all the fields, click the Update button and your settings for forum will be saved.
