2.2.1. Installing on Windows

  • Go to http://www.viart.com/helpdesk-downloads and download Viart HelpDesk as Windows executable or as a zip archive.


    • Note: In the event that you chose to download the zip archive, make sure to find the following components:

    • "/" - Language specific script files and html template files are in the Root folder.
    • "/docs" - Reference Manual is in "Docs" folder.
    • "/db" - SQL script files that can be used to recreate the database are in the "/db" folder.
    • "/images" - A folder containing images.
    • "/includes" - A folder with commonly used scripts and settings.

  • Unzip the ViArt HelpDesk files from the downloaded package or run the .exe file (depending which install option you downloaded).

    • Note: If you are installing Viart HelpDesk to a remote web-server, FTP all the files to its public or root folder (usually it's www). Don't forget to set the permissions on the Includes folder to allow access to everyone.

  • Go to your home page i.e. www.yoursite.com and follow the Installation Wizard (see section 2.2.4).
