With ViArt Shop your customers can write reviews about the products sold on your site and rate them as well.
This can be a valuable source of information for those who are unfamiliar with a specific product and want
to collect a few opinions.
First of all, make sure that the review option is enabled. This can be done through the 'Global settings'
section (see section 3.1).
The overall review management is performed at the 'Reviews' section. Please go to Administration >
Shopping cart > Product Reviews. Since there are no reviews in the system yet, you will get the 'No
reviews were found' message. However, normally the system will show all existing reviews. You can also filter
them and show only approved or non-approved ones.
Note: In order to fully examine review settings you may add a test review. In such a way you will get something
like the picture below:
The table allows sorting the reviews by their ID, User Name, date when a review was added and whether it is approved
or not (click the name of the corresponding column or the arrows near it). In order to edit e review, click the
'Edit Review' link. Your screen should look like the following:
Note: the 'User IP Address', 'One-line Summary' and 'User Comments' fields have been cleared; in fact, they should
contain the data entered by a customer.
Actually, all you have to do is to look through the information entered by a customer and approved it if everything
is OK. The fields are as following:
- Product Name displays the name of the product the review was written for.
- Approve Review approves/disapproves the review.
- User Name contains the name of the author. Note that it may differ from his/her login name.
- Review Date indicates when the review was submitted.
- User IP Address is defined automatically and is used to prevent submitting multiple reviews by one customer.
- Does user recommend product? may be useful for your information.
- Rating shows how the customer rated the product. The system uses the value for generating the
'Average Customer Rating' shown on the site. For more information see section 5.4.2.
Note: When rating a product, your customers will have to choose from 'Bad', 'Poor', 'Average', 'Good' and 'Excellent'
meaning '1', '2', '3', '4' and '5' correspondingly. You can edit these values at the 'Static messages' section.
For more info see section 12.6.
- One-line Summary and User Comments contains the information left by the customer.
In order to save the changes you made click the 'Update' button.
In order to delete the review click the 'Delete' button.
If you want to leave without saving click 'Cancel'.
