Image Resizing

The Image Resizing functionality allows you to resize large image to smaller ones, in other words GD library enables you to make smaller images from a larger one, not vice versa.

If you have a large image (i.e 500x600 px) and want to resize it to smaller images, you need to go to ‘Administration > Products > Products Settings’, tick off 'Always resize images if its dimensions exceed max values' checkboxes for all three kinds of images (Small, Large and Superlarge) and set the values for these images. Then go to ‘Products’, select a product and click the ‘Upload Image’ in the ‘Super-size Image’ field. Upload an image for your product in the pop-up window and tick off 'Generate Small Image' and 'Generate Big Image' checkboxes. Your large image will be automatically decreased to match the sizes you specified in the ‘Products Settings’. Please, check whether you have specified the sizes for small, large and super large images in the ‘Product Settings’.

Also, your GD library is to be enabled for resizing. And please note resizing of images is performed when you make an upload. If you need to change the default sizes for images, then do it via ‘Products Settings’ first and then upload images again on ‘Products Edit Page’.
