Hi,
I add pound sterling code in [ Administration > Static Tables > Currencies ] Set as default currency - British Pound - and in the field [ Symbol Left ] I enter the code for british pound £ - pound currency symbol Ok for products prices or some others but when I add Tax or Vat option --- there in Basket page with amount not come £ over there code display I mean i.e. £ 23.00 etc. and the same code display with invoice with html or pdf which are customers can download or go with notice to customer ....
 
Appreicate and thanks in advance if some one guide to solve this .....

I am not sure I understand your problem Haider.
 
I use the £STG sign and it appears on all currency amounts in all places and documents in my shop.
 
Perhaps you need to put in a support ticket to Viart to look at this?

Is a character set problem? I have a similar problem with the € symbol. I want to use utf-8 for the web site but the only way I could get the web site *and* the pdf files to be compatible was to write EUR for euros instead.

Sorry you have the problem Haider. I don't know why as it just works out of the box for me - nothing special.
 
Perhaps a support ticket to Viart will get you the answer you need.

Been having the same problem but not got round to sorting it. Sometimes currency symbols are completely missing for all lines or just wrong/missing for VAT/TAX amount.
Please let me know how you get on.

There are two known issues with currency symbols:
 
1) when the currency sign is missing everywhere in the shop i.e. on all pages and invoices you see only numbers like 200.00;
--> This is easily fixed if you go to Administration > System > Static Tables > Currencies > Edit and select the option "(user can choose this currency in which prices will be shown)".
 
2) on some server configurations the € symbol is not showing up in PDF invoices.
--> For now the solution is to use EUR abbreviation instead of the currency symbol but we are working on fixing that issue.

I been trying some others cart too . just because of my clients like them , but personally I am impressed and really like viart customers services and this is will not fair if I don't say about community too. All are very co-operative and try to help and guide to each others like real community or family. God bless you
 
And as concern currency issue ... that is second option ... problem in PDF file, there pound symbol comes with one of strange word A~ something like that
. I hope you understand

Halder one thing you might try is changing " Administration > Orders Maintenance > Printable Page Settings" from PHP based to PDF Lib based.
 
This might map the pound symbol better?

Thanks, I ll do but first would like to request to some viart experts or seniors about this matter ... Will it be ok if I do as Ned suggest.... I am sorry Ned but just want to make sure that this option will not effect any of others functions... I am saying this because just few days ago, I got tough time to setup normal again when I just somewhere select one of option .... and think may be this will do which I want , that option did which I want but next day much problems starts because of that selection.... and after changing so much setting then I success to solve that.... Hope you don't mind...

Actually I am already as I said got bit problem few day ago just made few changes without seniors consultation and after that byself doesn't have idea where is actual problem, but just one option selection, which I found after long time struggling.,

Hi - back now from the Scottish Highlands.
Yes you do need a pdf library on your server.
As Its not working with pdflib ticked try changing the pound sign to "GBP" as suggested.
Also support will respond to your request because, as they say, they are already looking at it.

Welcome Back - and thanks for reply too - I was worried may be you mind becoz of my last post - thats why I already apologize for that - Hope you will don't mind to guide me sometime , I rang to support line for requesting some of my issues but as they are so busy and promise to reply soon, and I don't mind becoz I know how busy they are and no doubt there customer service is best if compared some of others cart companies customer services - this is my personal experience - I used some of others cart some time too -
