Today, we use Viart v.3.4.5 and when we tried to update to 3.6 we had problems with ” Upgrade Database i.e. that we have done everything according viarts manuals but when we came to Administration > System > System Upgrade when the missing the Upgrade Database button d.v.s we could not update database
 
According Anjula on viart to do the following: You should have activated the Upgrade menu item via Admin privileges (Administration > System > Privilege Groups), then you would be able to upgrade your DB.
 
What I do not understand what is being done in practical terms in Privilege Groups
 
Is it so difficult to update viart?

Okay, I'm not sure anyone has gotten back to you yet or not, but one of the items that we needed to change was that there were not permissions on the database upgrade and any one of our staff could perform the update and/or go into this screen.
 
To correct it, they made it necessary to have the priviledge assigned to the appropriate admin, however no admins have this as default because it's new. Therefore, what you'll need to do, is to pick an admin, edit the security type for their admin type, and then go back and you should see the buttom available.

It was good to update to 3.6, but now I have a pronlem with currencies, we want to use only SEK and we have been enabled in the admin side, but the new 3.6 download U.S. dollar manage although it is not activated. Does anybody know in which file should I change so that SEK is standard?

Besides the database issue mentioned above did you experienced any other difficulties in the upgrade process?
 
If your upgrade worked without any problems I think I’ll give it a try myself Smile

I have not find several other problems in addition to currency, but be aware that if you have any templates that you configured when you download your template from your backup

If you write or edit a news under admin> article in which text is a html code in the display mode

Please do look at http://www.viart.com/new_template-how_to.html before you start and create a new templates folder. This way any work youve done wont be overwritten by upgrade.

Hi Ned,
 
I understand how to direct Viart to a modified templete before looking in "standard" templates folder.
 
But in your previous experience do the modified template files created in a previous version stand up well in the new version.
 
e.g if Viart have added a new function on the that page would the template need updating anyway to allow display of new fields etc.

I updated block_product_details.html & block_products_list.html as it appeared to me that additional features were added; this is a problem - we do need to know of any changes to templates
