Hello everybody,
I have the following problem. I have installed Free version of Viart Shop under Slackware. But, I can't send mails from it - for example, from the "Forgotten password" page, from "Orders" page, from nowhere. I have another webpage on that server and I can send mails through it without any problem. I receive the following error in maillog:
"sendmail[18359]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(apache): can not chdir(/var/spool/mqueue/): Permission denied".
Is the ViartShop requires some special permissions to use sendmail? Or I'm doing something wrong? Please help!

The error message is telling you that the permissions for /var/spool/mqueue are wrong. Try chmodding to 755 or 777 if your server allows it.

I tried, but this is not the problem. If I change the permissions of /var/spool/mqueue, many many other errors arise. Sendmail manual tells that permissions of this folder MUST be 700 with owner root. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

Please check that submit.cf exists, also you may try to set correct privilege mask to sendmail queue and s bit for sendmail binary itself.
BTW, what version of sendmail is used?
