Sometimes two separate products are so similar that one seems to be a duplicate of the other. In such a case there is a simple way of adding them to your online store database.

If you have two products with similar characteristics, you can add one of them and duplicate the other. In order to do this you have to go to the detail page of the first product (Administration > Shopping Cart > Products & Categories > your category > your product (or the 'Edit' link next to it)) and use the duplication option at the foot of the page (see the picture below).

Tick off the checkboxes associated with the product properties you want to duplicate and click the 'Duplicate' button.

A product named '{your product} (Duplicate)' will be created. All the properties will be copied from the original product. However, you can edit them directly from the corresponding sections.
