In 3.6 you can create a new tax rate in "Orders > Tax Rates" and link that to a particular geographic area. You can also change the shipping tax for the new rate as well as override the new rate for particular product types. HTH

I'm trying to do this too, but it is not working. Under 4.0.5, you can create a tax rate by STATE and COUNTRY, but within a specific STATE, the individual COUNTIES (not COUNTRIES) is not selectable. Has anyone been able to implement COUNTIES (a smaller division of the STATE ?)

If we could do it by zip code, that would be awesome too. (We have 4 tax rates we have to deal with for Colorado orders.) Is this doable in 4.0?
