Upgrading ViArt Shop from a previous version

Here are the instructions to follow if you want to update your ViArt Shop. To avoid problems during the upgrade process and after it, please, stick to the instructions. Read more for information on update process.

The Update process is semi-automatic: it requires you to manually overwright all of the.php files in your ViArt Install except for those that you have changed or customised specificaly for your site.

Please read these instructions very carefully before performing the update:

• Make a backup of all the files in your current ViArt Shop
• Make a backup of your current ViArt database
• Overwrite all the old ViArt files with the ones from the new version
• Do not overwrite any files you have customised to change the way you site looks or performs. If you do, you will lose those changes.
• You must leave your 'old' file /includes/var_definition.php intact
• Go into ViArt Shop's Administration > System > System Upgrade screen

Selecting the option to 'update' will perform the update process for you.

Once complete the new version number will be displayed at the top of the screen in place of the old one.
