Can I put an "add to cart" button on an external non-viart page? So when the user clicks "add to cart" and "checkout," it takes them directly to the vi-art checkout page? If so can you tell how this is accomplished.

I was also hoping for some kind of widget idea to be able to have external sales. would be great for the affiliate module...

Hi, you can copy the URL of the Add to Cart link for a particular product and put it in a link or button on another site. When the user clicks the button or link they put the product into the basket on the main site.

It's only possible with simple products where you can't change the quantity or if there are no options associated with the product.

I think this would be an excellent addition to Viart.

Especially in terms of marketing, i am getting a lot of ideas of how to use this.

I agree Ibn Saeed - has a lot of potential - should be in feature requests!

There are a few carts out there that actually use this method as THE way they work, 1shoppingcart.com being an example of this. You put all your items in the cart system but rather than building your site with their cart, you just place "buy me" buttons into your existing website. Such carts so allow users to create individual pages within them but are mainly geared toward sites that want to design in another system and simply add the buy-me buttons to the rest of the site. There are pluses and minuses to this approach, of course. I prefer a full-scale solution such as ViArt but would love to see an OPTION to add buy-me buttons and a mini-cart widget to external pages.
