Dear Viart

Firstly I am very pleased to have Bonus Points. It is a great step forward.
But I am not sure I understand the details; could you clarify fields and usage so that I can use points effectively.
I have put the message here rather than a support ticket as I expect the answers will interest many people.

Could you please explain each field on the POINTS page in
Administration > Site Users > Accounts ... ‘Points’?

I also need to understand how I specify how many points a customer gets [per ? or $] when placing an order.

*****QUOTE*****
You can set points per a certain product only
For example, if the product costs $100 and the conversion rate is set to 10, then one product will cost 1000 points.
***************
Presumably, once the customer has accrued 1,000 points s/he can redeem those points for goods valued $100?
And - this can be modified product-by-product** to different conversion rates according to the product?
** if this is right it will be a lot of work where there are many products. Would it be better to allow this to be done as Product Type or Category level?

Is it possible also, please, to use distinct terms for 'cost/rate of earning' points and 'price/rate for redeeming points'? I sometimes tend to get a bit confused by the language in the manual.

E.G. you say "if the product costs $100 and the conversion rate is set to . . .".
Retailers may mis-read this as the cost (buying price) of the product. I presume this means "if the product SELLS FOR $100 and the conversion rate is set to . . ."
I am sorry to be pedantic but these are crucial distinctions for clear understanding Smile

If you go into /admin/admin_products_settings.php and click on points tab, this will apply settings to all products.

Thank you Andrew - I appreciate your help. Smile
We have the basic details from the e-mail announcement from Viart but there is now a need for a more detailed understanding of how this feature is applied and how to make such a useful marketing feature effective.

It is a great feature,

Just from my questions to ViArt, on the basket page, if you enter e.g 5 items of product x, the basket will only show points awarded if only one item of product x was bought. However after the order has been processed / delivered, the correct points amount will be added.

My current question is if customer has enough points to cover their order, do they still have to enter payment system and enter credit card details?
