does anyone know how to get the fedex shipping module working? inside the notes there is:

The first step is to register for a FedEx Ship Manager Direct account by visiting https://www.fedex.com/cgi-bin/shipapiDownload.cgi?link=4&first=y and completing the form.

and that url is a 404.

fedex seems to have something called web services.. not sure if this works with the fedex shipping module inside viart? any idea?

A Search of the fedex website found this :

http://www.fedex.com/us/developer

to be the most likely candidate for what you need. It should work with the shipping module.

i did sign up for an account there but they only have web services and something else called "ship manager server", which i suppose isn't the same thing as "ship manager direct".

has anyone actually really gotten this up and running??

Viart is working on a new Shipping Module for FedEx.

Ship Manager Direct is FedEx's old system. FedEx recently switched to a new Rate/Service Quote API called Web Services - this is now the only method supported by FedEx, so they don't offer a way to get a new account for their old system (which unfortunately is the only one currently implemented by ViArt). It may be possible to get a Ship Manager Direct account by calling FedEx Tech Support, but even in that case, you will want to upgrade to Web Services as soon as possible.

It's pretty frustrating, but if at all possible, I would just wait until they finish the new FedEx Web Services shipping module so you don't waste your effort now.

thanks for the information! it would totally help if they had info like this on some kind of page that newcomers like me could easily refer to..

that said, i don't suppose that there's any estimated time of completion for this new fedex shipping module?

Any word on when this module will be out?
This is really hurting sales.

Thanks
