Hoping someone can help me?
 
At the minute the closes my site gets to friendly URLs is this: http://www.instantforever.com/article/wedding-albums/26/
- and even then I'm not sure how it was done.
 
Ideally my SEO lady would like all my URLs to be much friendlier, for example:
 
http://www.instantforever.com/wedding-albums/ (and then whatever else after the important bit)
 
Can anyone explain to me how to do this...in non-technical language please?

On each product page in your shopping cart admin, there's a tab 'General', and you can give each product a friendly URL like '.../MrHappy' or whatever. You also need to turn on friendly URLs in the Global settings page.
 
If you've done those two things, I'm not sure I know what else to tell you except to see what they are set for and then change them to be even more friendly!

I can't see either of those settings - in the product pages or global settings.
 
What version does that relate to?

Are you running version 2.8
