Hi - I would like a search bar just for my forums similar to the one Viart has on its own forum. What do I need to do to enable this or customize my site to have it.

Thanks!

This may be a custom request. Tony at Holleyland would be a good person to contact for this customization.

Do you have a Viart Shop? If so, are you using the forum module? If so, does yours have a search bar?

I am wondering what the point of the forum would be without being able to quickly search for your question through the hundreds if not thousands of replies to threads/posts.

Considering the overwhelming amount of hits on this post - I would think maybe Viart could drum up a quick step-by-step instruction on how to do it.

My shop has not gone live yet. I don't intend to use forum in the beginning.

Have you try to add forum search block using CMS?

In admin, click CMS.
Scroll down to 'Forum Layout'.
Click on 'Forums List Page'.
In the Forums List Page view, the first available block is 'Forum(search)'. Add it to the column of choice.

AS for taking shots at Viart... If you want 'Support' then click on Support tab and log a ticket.
Forum entries are mainly contributions by end-users.

DanN - I don't understand how making a nice suggestion to Viart to be involved in their own product forum is "taking shots at Viart"!

I don't care if forum entries are from Daffy Duck in Toon-Town using his computer - if no one answers a forum post after 2400 hits then the forum needs a wake up call.

So - in response to your suggestion - I went to CMS, and there is no Forum List Page View. I haven't upgraded to the latest release yet, so maybe this is not added in my release. Looks like I will have to upgrade or code it myself.
