plz guide me where is the option for removing the "rating" from the products detail page

bump on this topic too. The manual describes how to disable ratings under http://www.viart.com/setting_up_main_online_shopping_cart_parameters.html but the Global Settings page seems to have changed compared to the version in the manual. How can I disable ratings completely?

OK, it turns out this is really easy, so I'm posting in case some other newbies get stuck.
 
The layout of all blocks is controlled (predictably) by the templates. So simply open the template file in question (block_products_list.html or block_product_details.html), find the placeholder in the source code, and delete it. The ratings will no longer on the pages where it has been deleted.
