When a customer is in checkout and ticks the box for delivery details to be the same as address details, the page jumps back up to the top.
This is most annoying :ranting:
 
Does anyone know how to stop the jump or have it jump to the same position where the user was on the page ?

It jumps because this is now loading the shipping method option... a little bit messy because of page refreshing and going back up to the same page... maybe it needs to be flash and cart should be on the bottom of the page, so once filled out, it jumps to the bottom and not back up to the top...

I'm only using one shipping rate so I'm going to try a workaround where delivery details are not required but can be optional
Thanks for the info. I must remember it in case I ever change shipping rates to cater for different zones
 
Would dearly love the shipping rates to be included in the View Cart. Oh well.

OK, I understand the thinking behind the jump now though I do not agree with it.
It jumps when the state/province/country is changed (not because the tick box is ticked) and it jumps to the top so the shopper can see the new shipping cost which is no different if the delivery details are the same.
 
A better way to do it and the way other carts do including mals-e is to allow the shopper to select a shipping option at the View cart stage. The option is then saved in cache
 
The shopper can then change their shipping option at checkout if they want to.
 
This way, the shopper can see the shipping cost change as they buy more as well as change their selected shipping method at checkout
 
Shipping cost is very important to online shoppers. Nothing like arriving at checkout to see shipping is way over the top

Yes, I suspect that this is my main reason for any aborted sales.

I rearranged that page to have the cart information on the bottom and enter the personal/shipping information on the top. More logical I think to enter the address then below it see the shipping rate.
