Hi, I build websites as a part time business and I have downloaded your free version to test it out.
 
I have a problem with the country states. I have set the default country to Australia and want to set up the states but there seems to be no way to do this. Is this function disabled in the free version?
 
Could anyone help with this please. I have 4 customers who what ecommerce websites and I think this program will be great but I need to get past this small problem.

Thanks for that. I have submitted a support request. I have also asked about a contact us page with a contact form. I can't seem to find where that is in the Admin area to set up. Do you happen to know how a contact us page and form is setup.

Contact us [helpdesk] is only available in the enterprise edition.
 
I embed a contact form in my site using a block.

The help center or contact feature, or whatever you call it, is one of my favorite things about ViArt. I'm pretty sure you can set it up for the free edition?
 
Like you, I call it support. But you do all the setup under the Helpdesk tab in Admin. Choose help types etc. I think you need to define a helpdesk operator to make it work. Starting in V3.5 you can choose extra fields for what info you want to collect.
 
In case you didn't get there yet, choose pages for the upper link bar in CMS/layout/site naviagtion.
 
VERY FEW carts offer a helpdesk feature. I also tried ashop which has a helpdesk and a couple of other great features (auto-populate an autoresponder database upon getting an order!) but lacks a bunch of other basic features I really need. Also I tried Volusion which is a monthly fee cart with a help center. Nice, but the newsletter/mailing list integration I was excited about was a cruel joke. They had just made a new rule for no more than 100 sent at a time! I understand, because it was causing them spam problems, but it was worthless for me. I left behind a $99 setup fee and a month's fee, and moved on.
 
Now with ViArt all my contacts come through the help (support) page, and it's so easy to track things. Plus it shows if they have ordered from us (qyt and total $), and how many prior support requests. I love this feature!

Thank you for the information. I tried to set up the contact us form but still having a problem. I will now go back and read the manual again and see if I can figure it out properly.
 
This cart really does seem to have all that I need so I will keep at it. I hope you will be around if I get into trouble (which I seem toi have a nack for with this sort of stuff).
