The default image for the header is called out in Administration > Global Settings > Logo Settings. You could of course replace it with something else of a similar size. Somewhere (maybe in the css?) there is a repeating background image that controls the height of the header.

Sorry I don't remember which files actually arrange the header, but maybe this will point you in the right direction.

Actually there are 3 options depending on the method of the designer.

1. Fast and dirty...Do as Vic 140 suggested.
2. Header image might be applied using CCS.
A. Determine which CCS you are currently using.
B. Download the CSS and modify the section relayed to the header image. Then upload the CSS - this will override the current version. BE SURE TO RENAME THE CSS YOU'RE WORKING ON AS A SAFE GUARD - YELLOW.CCC CHANGE TO YELLOW-OLD.CSS.

3. The header image might reside in the header.html - Do the same as outline A and B by downloading the index.html modify and upload.
