Hi there,

How do i import prices INCL. tax ? Because our software package exports the prices to the CSV-file incl. taxes. If i import them into ViArt Shop, my taxes are thus counted double.

Hi Jan Geurts,

If your taxes are the same rate, why not take your csv to a spreadsheet (excell/openoffice/whatever) insert a column, do the reverse tax entry to generate the before tax price and then cut and paste SPECIAL as values, delete the column you just made with the formulas and voila.

If your taxes are different rates for different products and you can sort them by whatever has the different rates, import the csv to a spreadsheet as above, sort by the criteria, enter the formulas in groups as above, cut and paste SPECIAL as above, do the sort by column a and Voila.

If your taxes are different per each product and you have a considerable number of products, hopefully you can export the rates from your software and set up a column in your spreadsheet that you will use as above, then delete the column, sort by column a and VOILA.

Hope that this helped.

Regards,

Todd

No can do ! :p

Suppose we take a product which costs € 100 incl. 21 % taxes. We would export it to csv, and apply a division by 1,21 to find the price excl. taxes.

So € 100 / 1,21 = € 82,644628

If we import this into ViArt and apply the same 21 % taxes, we end up with the following : € 99,99

Okay, you say, this is 1 cent, but on higher priced items, this makes a significant difference, and certainly with over 3000 products sold daily in our old shop.

No other solution ? Anyone ?

We could of course completely disable the taxes and everything by deleting them all, but that would mean that we can only serve our Belgian customers, because all our neigbouring countries use different tax rates (19, 23, 17).

Help me ! :) I'm going crazy on this one

Your problem is with rounding. Excel and similar products do not round the same way as the server. Format your column to twenty columns and instead of dividing by 1,21 multiply by 0.82644628099173500000 and at all dollar amounts that I tried, all was well.

You may also have to change the rounding of your products purchase price to three digits ,000 or four digits ,0000.

Hopefully this is the trick.

Thx Patriot,

Tell me exactly how to change the rounding of my products purchase price to ,000 or ,0000. At least that will give me the chance to try something like that.
