Hi all,

I just started playing around with Viart and I would love some more info on how to modify etc. I have used cubecart in the past and there was a very active forum.
Is there a place somewhere with more info on how to modify templates etc.?
I am not a programmer but with a little help and examples I usualy get where I want.

thanks, Daan

I think we all felt a little lost at first. From my past e-commerce experiences I found Viart really excellent but not so easy to get started.
I have now done quite a lot of work - also with help from Viart - and am very pleased at the way my store has developed.
Once you have purchased you will discover that Viart support is friendly and helpful.
Do use the Manuals - menu above.
And the templates you will want to change if you care to delve into html [and .css] - folder = >templates > user
I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Hi Christopher,

thanks. You are right the Viart support team is indeed helpfull and friendly, I have a enterprise hosting package.
I do find the manuals a little brief and I would greatly benefit from examples of how other people changed templates etc. I learn the fastest by imitation :)

But I know I will get there in the end, just playing around in the administration menu's is starting to give me more and more ideas how to acomplish certain things I want.

So I guess I will print out the template Viart customized for me and compare it with the original, that should get me started on makeing my own listing and details templates.
I will be using Viart for a competition where the entrys will be listed using the products-section. As people cant buy the entry's I will be modifying the details and listing blocks.
There also will be items people can buy so I need other (more standard) details and listing block for those.

I also will be integrating (well let the makers do that) a more advanced poll system and a more advanced forum.

best regards, Daan

Yes, Dean, the manual is a bit lightweight and we anticipate the team developing that more when they get time Smile

I expect that I am not so focussed on the code detail as I have a marketing background and have taught myself html etc were it helps me. Even with a 'amateur' understanding and Viart help I have a very functional and customer friendly shop.

And as for other polls and forums, why not integrate others if you wish. I did that with the poll on my other site (different software). I am sticking with the polling from Viart in the hope we can get it further developed.

Good luck with yours.
