I need to start working with some new features in the latest release. But the manual is frustrating and is now in desperate need of re-writing before the program get so complex it will become an impossible task!!
 
And there are inconsistencies, for example Coupons:
The manual says go to:
Administration > Shopping cart > Coupons
... it should be:
Administration > Products & Categories > Coupons
 
 
Showing coupons on checkout page.
I understand that this is possible. It does not show on mine - where to I set this up?
I tried a search for 'coupons on checkout'. I received: Not found anything for 'coupons on checkout'
 
If anyone can help with the coupons on checkout I would be grateful.
 
I would also urge Viart once again to help us with a really comprehensive and easy to follow manual - recently promised - as soon as possible.
 
I am sure I am missing many useful things through my ignorance - and ignorance on this occasion is not bliss!!

I believe it's a block u have to put it on via cms

It only shows on basker page, not on checkout page. So you need to set "go to basket" in product settings. Then it will show the coupon field, if you set it to "go to checkout" there is no coupon field.
 
I've already mentioned this inconsistancy way back to Viart. Not fixed till today.

I think you are little wrong as this new coupon block appeared in the latest release 3.4.5 and you can easily add it to 'Checkout Personal Data Page'.

Well Monk, can you tell us where/how we do this?

Just go to CMS settings and click 'Checkout Personal Data Page' and it has the same blocks structure as other pages.

actually i think the manual is very good compaired to most but they should aim to keep it upto date as this is one of the carts selling points.

The manual isn't really as great as it used to be, it's falling behind in the times.
 
My main concern is for the style sheets. They've implemented new styles and they're not specified in the css style sheet and it would be nice if they were. Also, I'd like for them to create a style sheet guide that's easier to follow.

jr1966 - I don't know your experience but for me it is confusing and doesn't easily help me to take advantage of all that there is to offer.
 
Yes, I know there are some really poor offerings around but that is no reason for one of the best ever eCommerce programs to see these as any standard to measure by.
 
The key to a good manual is whether the least experienced or competent user can make full use of the program from using the manual.

Perhaps someone could guide me with this one, please?
 
I want to display the latest added products.
 
I have added the block "Products(Latest)" to the page and specified : latest products in 1 columns / 10 products : show description.
 
But nothing shows!
 
I am adding new products most days.
 
What am I missing - can't find anything in the manual

Hi Chris,
 
To manage this, the Viart system actually looks at the release date of the product - in your case, you probably aren't adding in the date in the product edit page and therefore blank, so system can't see the date it was added.

When you add your new -- or you just want to show the latest product in your latest product block. Set the date as today in the product issue date. Then it should show in your latest product block.
