After reviewing the answer to the "tweet" question (http://www.viart.com/twitter_inch_tweet_button_inch_.html), I am concerned about duplicate content issues with the ViArt cart.

I did a little testing on the demo shop and found that when I add another category to a product, the cart will indeed find that product under the two separate categories, but the URLs are different for each category. It is my understanding that the search engines are going to see this as duplicate content which would hurt rankings.

If anyone has some added insight into this I would certainly love to hear it as I have been anxiously waiting the official release of the new version for purchase, but this issue is a deal-breaker for me.

Any thoughts?

To comment the Duplicate Content issue:

Starting from version 4.0 on every product details page there is added a special canonical tag that points to the search engines a unique product URL and therefore effectively prevents the duplicate content issue that may appear if product is located in a few categories at once.

Thank you for your reply. I'm glad this is being addressed.

Do you have any idea when a live demo of 4.0 will be available to see this in action? (Rather than having to download and install it myself?)

Thanks!

For what it is worth, I have several categories for most of my products [v3.6] but Google still usually places my shop in top 5 on page 1

Thanks for the input christopherO. Good to know. Can't wait for an online 4.0 demo to experiment with before purchasing. Looking forward to release out of beta.
