I have a PayPal-Pro account and am needing recurring paymants for my sites subscriptions/memberships... I have a Monthly and yearly membership and have many one time buy products.

What I am unclear about is:

1... The Recurring tab on edit products. For example I want to re-process the customers credit card for the specific membership each 30 days (Monthly). So do I set the recurring period to 30 and the length to Day, OR do I set it to 1 and the Length to Month?

2... The other fields I do not understand. Since there is no end to the monthly subscription, and it starts as of the time of initial order, do I leave the other fields blank? (i.e. "Payments Total", "Start Date", "End Date" ???

3... What settings are best for the /admin/admin_payment_systems - Recurring section for the PayPal Pro (Direct API) ?

4... And finally, most likely a stupid question... If a customer orders multiple items at the same time, for example; 1 product that is a recurring billing item, and then other products that are one time priced items, will the recurring order only be for the products on the original order that where recurring types of products and exclude the other items that were on the original order? (Hopefully this is the case but just have to ask to be sure)

Thanks so much for the help! - I am really wanting to get this setup and tested and if everything works then I am a new customer for sure! :)

Best,

Dave

What I think we all need is a better, more descriptive manual put together.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for your questions.

You can find the answers to them here: http://www.viart.com/recurring_payments.html

As for your last question, the answer is yes. If you add multiple items to the same order and one of the items is recurring, then this only product will be in the next recurring order and ordinary items won't be added.

Hope it is what you were looking for.

With kind regards,
