Despite my strong objections, my client wants to collect the credit card information and save it so they can process it through some card reader in their store.
 
When a purchase is made the credit card number doesn't show up on invoice for good reason, but is it possible for my client to see the number somewhere in the control panel?

If you view the actual order, yes... this is possible.

Thanks Dan, but I've been I've looked through all of the orders and it only list the name of cardholder, card type, and expiration. No card number is listed. Is there some place to turn this feature on?

Have you enabled the collection of the card number in payment systems
Can you enter a card number when mimicking an order, you can use something like 4111111111111111 for testing
If you can enter it in the front, you should be able to see it in admin, edit orders.

Hi jty, have you successfully been able to view someones credit card, because everything you describe is fine but there is no credit card number listed any-where in the order details on any page.
 
I'm kinda familiar with this software but I have never had to see the card number before now. If you are seeing the cc number please tell me EXACTLY where you see it.

Depends on the payment gateway you have selected. If you're choosing to utilize offline... then the card number will be there. IF you're NOT however using it and instead are using a thirdparty like paypal, then the card # will not be present.

If you are not seeing the card number it is because you need to set the admin privilages.
 
Go to System>Privilage Groups>Edit Administrator>Check off tick box "Accessing orders payment details"

Hi on2dvd thanks for the help, but still there is no cc info for me. By default the privleges are set to allow access but all the details are there to be seen when I look up sales orders except the actual card number.

In Administration > Payment Systems > Personal > Payment Details Page
 
Did you set set Credit Card number to "Don't save in the database"
 
Set it to "Save encrypted"
