I'm evaluating purchasing your product. One thing I like is that it supports the ability to define different price lists for different customer types. However, we also need to allow certain payment types for specific customer types.

For example, regular web visitors should be allowed to pay only with credit card. However, in-house accounts, should ALSO be allowed to select company check as a payment method.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi,

You can define different price lists for different customer types using 'Prices' link under product's title in Administration > Products.

In regard to definite payment methods that depend on customer's type, such possibility is not available now.
Nevertheless you can contact us via Support page (http://www.viart.com/support) and discuss the implementation of this feature.

The price list will only work against the base item price. If all of your product pricing is based on options, then this approach will not work.
My base items all have a cost of $0, and then the actual cost is determined by the options they set. I would like to be able to set prices for options as well, based on customer type. This is not possible.

In this case you can use subcomponents products instead just options selection then it's possible to select them like options but you can set different prices based on user groups for such subcomponents like for other products.

Hi Master Yoda. I've been trying to figure out how this can work. Right now, there is one 'Option' with many values and prices in a listbox type control. For example, the option 'Amount', with values

'1 pound' for $10.00
'24 count case' for $28.00
'5 pound bag' for $34.00

If I implement this as a bundled product with subcomponents, then from what I understand you to say, I need to create 4 new products. One called '1 pound', one called '24 count case', one called '5 pound bag', and one bundle type product that is made up of the above three, where I can set the prices per customer type.

I don't see how that works properly. The bundled product would be made up of all three subproducts, and I don't want that. They only pick one of the options, not all three.

Can you explain a bit more how this can work? Thanks.

Hello Greg,

In this case first of all you have to go to the edit screen of your parent product and select it type as 'Bundle'.
Then please go to it 'Options & Components' section and click on 'Add Subcomponent Selection' link and on new page add your new component 'Amount' with three choices based on your three products in the 'List of Subcomponents'.

Thanks,
