I have my site up and running but for the life of me I can't seem to get my paypal working for my check out. I am using PayPal Pro Express Checkout. I have my real and sand box test information from PayPal. When I input the information I only get an empty response from PayPal. Any Ideas? The SSCert number is inserted into the Parameter Source as is the user name and password. The subject is left blank. I am not sure what to do with the check boxes next to the Parameter section. They are checked not passed.

I could not find the direct information or visuals to help set that section up.

Here you can find my home page: http://inertext.homeunix.com/viart_shop/

Thanks for any help you can provide. Nice Cart.

Well I guess I need some clairification on a few items. The SSCert says it needs the complete path and not just the number. Well how the heck does one do that? The cert is on PayPal and not my server. Do I need to save this number in a text on my server and access it directly from the server? There is no indication of that needing to be done.

I guess what is needed is a simple PayPal for Dummies for setting up your paypal payment information for this particular Cart. One cart I used only requires the number and not the "Full Path"

I am confused. Still I have not found the information I need by looking at other posts on this subject. Yup! some of us really need visuals to help put it all together. Or some real simple clear instructions. "For Dummies"

Thanks
Pete

If one of you who has gotten the PayPal Express to work can walk me through the process I could write up a PayPal Express for Dummies how to for all who want this option on their site.

Installing and figuring things out has been fun until I got to this PayPal thing for Express PayPal.

Please help me get through this and I will do a write up so anyone can follow it and be successful with installing the Express PayPal.

Got a visual?

Hi Pete,

Not sure about the Sandbox Paypal but setting up the real thing isn't too fussy.

Hello,

Please refer to our online manual to read more information on how to set the PayPal (Pro Express Checkout) payment system: www.viart.com/paypal_pro_express.html

Alternatively, you send to support@viart.com your site URL and admin credentials and we will check the Paypal parameters you have set.

Your cert needs to be installed on the root of your server.. ie public_html.

I think it is called cert_pem or some such, it can be made nd downloaded within your Paypal account under request certificate. Then you need to check the absolute path to your cert. Often it looks like this home/user/yourloginname/public_html. Ask your host if you are not sure.

This needs to be inserted in the relevant box in your express Checkout settings on Viart. Follow all the instructions on the Viart Paypal settings page and you can't go too far wrong.

Hello,

We would recommend to keep your certificate outside web root folder and upload your certificate one level up, for example in the folder /home/yourhomefolder/ and not in 'htdocs' or 'public_html' subfolder which is usually your web root folder, so no one can dowload your PayPal security certificate via web and use it for hacking your PayPal account.
