Hello,

I was wondering if your cart could be used to collect size information on products and then transmit that info to me for a price quotes. My products are to complicated (many many custom dimensions) to plug prices directly into the cart.

Thanks,
Brian

Hello,

You can set different sizes for each product and the price will be quoted automatically.

To add product options, please go to Admin Page>Products>Products&Categories, select a particular product and click the Options & Components link. Add a new option, like Size, for example, and set different sizes with different cost in the Option Values section.

For more info about this function refer to our ViArt Manual Page at: http://www.viart.com/online_store_product_options.html

In case this functionality doesn't suit you, you can submit your request to support@viart.com with detailed information and we will suggest you a solution.

With kind regards,
ViArt Support Team

So I guess that is a no?

I have already looked into the products&categories section and that part of the cart will suit me fine.

The thing is....my products have to many demensions to have the cart calculate the pricing, I must do this manually.......is there a way to have items added to the cart and submit the demensions for my manual quote estimation?

I am working around this by having a product called free quote set to $0.00 where I've added all the possible attributes with no prices (just general information in the description,) that way it sends me the order and I have all of the information to send back a quote.

AmandaK,

Sounds like I may be able to use this "work around".
Question for ya though. When the customer checks out, how does the cart handle the transaction?
Are they prompted for any CC/payment info at all?

Thanks for the tip!

Try this - Version 3.2

Ability to automatically place zero orders without submitting payment details You may want to provide some product (s) free of charge or you just use gift vouchers. In this case you do not need your customers to submit their payment details. Now it can be easily done. The scheme is very simple: a user selects a product(s) with zero price and add it to his cart. Then he enters his personal and delivery details and that’s all.

I'm testing now an it works like a charm. No payment info screens are shown!
