I'm considering purchasing this cart, but I've not had much luck resolving problems through support tickets. For those of you who use this cart, would you recommend it to others? I'm torn as to whether I want to continue trying to get it working right or whether I should just look for something that works out of the box.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Works fine for me, the issues I had with it, I managed to resolve on my own + Viart support. Has a few issues and needs a few features, but all shop software is like that, and nothing with half the features of Viart in this price range. I don't regret purchasing it.
What are you issues with it actually?

I have to go along with Kami.

This is my second e-shop - I chose Viart for the range of features and the facility for PayPal Pro UK which is harder to find than I expected elsewhere.

Of course everything is not perfect but when could it be for a package that is developing so fast?

I have to ask what you mean by —
". . .whether I want to continue trying to get it working right or whether I should just look for something that works out of the box"
It worked out of the box for me.

I have had some excellent support, sometimes a little slow but usually fast when it really matters - I think you will see the difference after you buy.

I'm having issues with the helpdesk after a registered user replies to a ticket. The ticket sends but then goes to a page that says only:

Notice: Undefined variable: mail_type in /home/emarketi/public_html/viart/support_messages.php on line 235

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/emarketi/public_html/viart/support_messages.php:235) in /home/emarketi/public_html/viart/support_messages.php on line 258

After adding a call center order, I am redirected to a blank page that says:
File ./templates/user/credit_card_info.html doesn't exists
but it does exist. This seems to stem from a path problem because in admin/credit_card_info.php I had to change the paths to the includes files to ../includes instead of ./includes due to the fact I was getting a page full of similar errors.

I'm having trouble with the download paths, not being able to upload zip files. I can upload them to the root directory but I don't want 10,000 files in my root directory. I try to put them in a "files" directory and get an error message that says The folder '/files/' doesn't exist - even though it does exist.

It's just minor problems like this that are causing problems and after messing with the installation for 3 days now, and going in circles with support that I'm just not sure I want to invest in this product. It has some great features that make it desirable for shop owners but personally, I would think tech support would be just as helpful before you buy as an example to potential customers how good customer service would be AFTER you buy. I'm just not seeing it.

Well, there's nothing I can do to resolve the problem.
All I can say is that these are straightforward matters that would be easily resolved with a support ticket - have you tried putting the question to Viart through support rather than this forum — which is not really a help desk?

Did you read my original post? "I've not had much luck resolving problems through support tickets."

Actually the forums have been somewhat helpful in helping fix some of the problems. If you notice, a new fix was posted today for the user ticket replies, which is more than I got from the helpdesk.
