I would like to have a block on my main page that has a slide show of images where the image would update every so many seconds, each image having it's own click through link.

Sorry, the post ended before I did. Has anyone done this? Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

If you look at this site I think you find they are doing what you want to achieve.

You would need to create it in flash or similar and then just add it to a custom block, you can then put the custom blocks anywhere.

That is exactly what I want to do. Any tips or could you point out a resource to find out how to set that up.

They don't seem to use flash. Source code shows a function call to some routine.

Greetings,

In reference to digitalrev - I believe you'll find the slideshow to be flash presentation.

1. Using - SWFObject: Javascript Flash Player detection and embed script -

2. You can product the slideshow using swf or flash but you might take a look at a very neat piece of software.

Greetings

After reading msquared common which is on target. But 2 important element needs to be added.

1. If your using java you need to upload js files into the proper directory. 2. You then need to edit the viArt html document, for example HEADER with src=javascript.js" type="text/javascript

Now you can create the block to display the slideshow.
