My email has worked fine all along, but I did find settings a bit elusive at first. Here are just a couple of things...

For me the best place to set customer & admin order notification is in the payment system setup "final checkout settings". (there are other excellent options) But be sure to also check the boxes of when to notify or nothing will happen. You probably checked to be sure you have subscribers to the newsletter?

Often if something doesn't work for me in ViArt, it is because something must be enabled 2 or 3 different places to make it work.

I notice that all my admin email settings are blank and SMTP is not checked. I guess everything sorted itself out through sendmail.

If you can't get the email working at all, it is best to contact support, give them your login info and they will figure it out.

Good luck!

I did notice that there were mulitple places to send notifications (payment systems, individual products, most of which i have tested)

Newsletters i typed in the email address it should be sent to manually and it say sending 1 error 1 sent 0.

I have already summitted a support ticket (waiting!!!!).

If anyone has any ideas how to resolve this, please HELP!!!

***Update***
Uncheck the SMPT Enable box.

1. Sent a Newsletter(with subsciber) No Errors reported - But no one ever received the emails.
2. Performed a Tell A Friend - Says Sent but never received.

Turned SMTP Enable box back on
1. Tell a Friend Test: Sorry there was internal server error while sending email, please try later.

Here is the fix - Hosting done on a windows server.

SMTP Enable - OFF (Admin >> Email Settings)

Add this line to your common.php file (last line for me)

ini_set ("sendmail_from","email@domain.com");
