Hi,

I have just upgraded to 3.4.1

I have made a back up of database & files.

I then ftp'd all the new files up to my server.

Everything went smoothly until I tried to log into ADMIN to upgrade the database.

I cannot do this as I get the following error

Fatal error: Unable to read 22761 bytes in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/eod21/includes/record.php on line 0

The shop end is not working also as the new files rely on the new database structure (I think)

So I get the following error

Referrer URL:
Database error: Invalid SQL: SELECT setting_name,setting_value FROM va_global_settings WHERE (setting_type='global' OR setting_type='products') AND site_id=1
MySQL Error: Unknown column 'site_id' in 'where clause'

anybody any ideas.

The site is not live yet so I have left as it at the moment until support are back in on Monday. I was however going to work on the site this weekend.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi freezer

Are you sure that you uploaded your files in binary?

Thanks for that, I deleted all old files and re-uploaded everything with the includes folder in Binary setting.

This enabled me to log into admin and update the database.

My joy was short lived as I now get this error message and all prices show with no decimal points e.g ?1.49 shows as ?1.

Here are the error messages

Notice: Undefined index: decimals in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/eod21/includes/common_functions.php on line 983

Notice: Undefined index: point in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/eod21/includes/common_functions.php on line 983

Notice: Undefined index: separator in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/eod21/includes/common_functions.php on line 983

Back to the drawing board !!

anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Dave

Dave & admin, I had the same problem. Go into your currency page (system/static tables/currencies/your currency page) and just hit "update" -- it seemed to work for me. I think I had to just retype one of the numbers to trick it into thinking I had changed something, and then the error messages went away.

I always get database errors when I upgrade but all i do is clear the browser cache and then go back to the admin page and is ok.

I deleted all cookies and it worked..... thanks.

I am worried about what effect this may have on clients though.....does anybody think they would see the same error messages after each upgrade we make unless they do the same ????

No, I believe they should be fine. I haven't had any customer complaints

Yeah, I'm surprised I was the first to bring this up, wonder why it's not part of the upgrade checklist?

I have this very same problem.
After reading this I downloaded the new version thru ssh and extracted on top of old files, so no problems about binary, yet the problem has not gone away.
Cleared browser cache as well, tried with another browser.. nothing!
Please help!
