How to backup a website? Kindly advise please.
 
Can I just use an FTP program, highlight all that shows on the site and copy (binary mode) onto my hard drive?

If you do that, you will be able to backup the entire site - i.e. Viart files, however, the key to the back is your "database" - from within the "Admin" panel of your Viart installation, click on - "System -> DB Management", then select "Create New Dump File", it will ask you to select the tables you want to "dump" (backup), and filename for the backup - add all the tables, and click "Submit".
 
Ensure the folder named "db" in your home directory is writeable - and it'll generate a dump file of the database for you - armed with the database backup, and your files backed up, you should be good to go then!
