Good morning,

My client's site is nearing launch, and we have pushed the launch date off so that we can wait for the new Fed Ex module to be completed. Is it still on track for a 7/24 release, and if not, when can it be expected?

My client ships exclusively via FedEx, so this is a pretty major thing for launch.

Thanks!

We also exclusively use fedex and viart. For us the current ("old") module is working. there were some settings that weren't quite clear, but with help from fedex we made it work.

As you probably know fedex is changing its system, thus the need for an updated viart module.

BUT, at the end of the day you should know that you will only be able to get shipping quotes from the module, even the updated one. It will give you a shipping quote directly from the fedex servers, but you will still have to go to the fedex site to print out the labels (that last bit of fedex integration--ability to print labels--is a pretty big deal, thus viart hasn't taken it on).

I know some people have set-up a system to export orders in a csv file, then take that and import it into the fedex system; once set-up it sounds like this could be a real time saver.

How did you get FedEx working? When I attempt to run the configuration script it generates the following order:

Can't obtain MeterNumber from FedEx.

I've verified all of my information is correct, but I can't get it to work.

Thanks

Oh, you haven't even got that far?

Well, I'm amusing that you've read all of the notes in the fedex module and actually have a live fedex account to use. We just followed the directions in the notes and put all of our fedex customer info into the module (everything except the meter number).

For us the problem wasn't the meter number, it came when we started running test products through and it returned errors. We found we were missing some product weights (everything must have a weight) and if your using YOURPACKAGING then you still must put 1 in each of the dimensions (even though you don't know them).

We're a brick and mortar store with a long relationship with fedex, so we have a customer rep who we can personally call, and that makes things easier too.

Yep, we've got a live Fed Ex account (the client sends quite a few packages a day), but I can't even get the software to communicate and get a meter number, so I can't process any shipments to even test FedEx.

go over all your variables in the module. its got to be that. and did you contact fedex? they need to know what your doing. follow the directions in the module, except the part about being certified, which you don't need.
