Whats the best and the easiest way to move an existing ViArt Shop Enterprise installation (WITH DATA) from one host to another?

Can I just take an sql dump of the db and reconstruct it on the target server and copy / paste my files and edit the config? will this do?

Its Urgent!
Please answer in detail.

Hello,

Yes, you can make the dump on the old server and add it to a new server.
Then you should copy all the files from an old server to a new one.
And finally, you need to change the configurations in the includes/var_definition.php file.

With regards,
ViArt Support Team

This is what I am planning to do too. I sell sports shoes online at https://www.belindasport.com , but I am planning to sell classic shoes on another domain name. I made a lot of changes to my current ViArt so I want to have the exact same shopping cart there with only different products listed.

Is there a way to directly upload files from one server to another without me having to download files to my local server, and upload it again? (I don't have telnet access)Because the problem is when I try to upload from my local server, I am getting a lot of corrupted files for some reason.

If you're moving from one cPanel based server to another, ask your new host to transfer the account across. It's as easy as giving them the address and your user id and password. Everything will transfer including your mail settings, forwards, passwords, web stats...

You could also do this yourself with cPanel's backup and restore facility.

Otherwise use wget software then do the following:

Open up a terminal > cd to the directory you want the site dl/ed to > wget -r www.yourdomain.com

Wget Link: http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/ - download and install.
