We just noticed a problem with taxes not being applied too paypal local province wide... We do not charge for out of province purchased, so it was not caught till last night..
Wish we new what file covers this ???
 
We loaded and older dump and all was fine, but you loose all the main data you need to run the site: The older was a 3.6 file dump...so something has changed ?

And all order numbers are screwed for any future paypal payment. "As that Purchase has already been paid"

I'm requesting a database dump option, that will backup all files that are effected on a DAILY bases automatically........
 
I know other carts have a simular option, that is done in the background. The User database is the heart of thier work...Sad to not see it in here...
 
One other note... If any of you are having trouble completing a dump backup and time out through your servers....... remove the 2 tracking visit reports....there the problem....
 
This would have solved our issue tonight as we would just apply a older working dump, and apply the saved current data.

Hello Birdman - you raise points that bug me daily.
 
I do not use tracking but still time out - mine is a very large database.
 
Somewhere I cam acoss a program that would automatically backup the database - Viart software not involved.
 
I am very cautious about allowing any software to have access to my database and act on it; this may be an option if Viart dumps remain a problem.
 
Perhaps ther are other ideas?

I use mysqldumper to backup my ViArt database. It is not automated but it works great. I have had to restore the database a couple of times and it has worked without any trouble.
