I would like to request "Recover Abandoned Carts"

1). Customer visits the site and registers for an account.

2). Customer then places some products/items into his Shopping Cart

3). Customer goes through the checkout steps but at the final confirmation or any checkout page, the customer decides to close the site or not to place the order.

Now when this happens, I get a notification that there is some Carts for Recovery. I go to the page and see which ones. If I want to see, lets say, the carts which were abandoned during the Past 60 days. I select the option and I get those carts details with the name of the customer and the products which are added into his cart along with the prices etc.

Now there is a option to send an email to all of those who abondaned their Shopping carts, with the following wordings

""""""
Thank you for stopping by Domain and considering us for your purchase. We noticed that during a visit to our store you placed the following item(s) in your shopping cart, but did not complete the transaction.

Shopping Cart Contents:

1 x Product 1 (http://www.domain.com/products_id=88)

1 x Product 2 (http://www.domain.com/products_id=100)

We are always interested in knowing what happened and if there was a reason that you decided not to purchase at this time. If you could be so kind as to let us know if you had any issues or concerns, we would appreciate it. We are asking for feedback from you and others as to how we can help make your experience at Arabian Bazaar better.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you believe you completed your purchase and are wondering why it was not delivered, this email is an indication that your order was NOT completed, and that you have NOT been charged! Please return to the store in order to complete your order.

Our apologies if you already completed your purchase, we try not to send these messages in those cases, but sometimes it is hard for us to tell depending on individual circumstances.

Again, thank you for your time and consideration in helping us improve our website.

Sincerely,
"""""""""""""""""""""'

This is an excellent way of recovering abandoned carts, I have recovered a lot of abandoned carts in this manner.

If Viart can establish a "Proposed Core Add-ons Sponsorship Program." Then those who are willing to pay for an Add-on can chip in and help with the cost of the Add-on

Great feature request! I was suprised to see the option didn't exist to auto-mail abandons in this cart as they already do such a good job of keeping track of abandoned carts. (better than the other carts ive evaluated)

Perhaps I don't fully appreciate this but I simply pick up yesterday's lost orders and e-mail (example below).
It is because each customer chooses a different payment method - and they come from different Countries - that I like to have a variety of e-mails that suite each individual.
I actually hate some of the standard auto responses as they rarely feel personal for the individual customer.
But, then, we all operate varied businesses and with different policies Smile

Good morning

I notice from yesterday's reports on our site that you placed an order but did not complete the checkout process.

You may have decided not to complete the purchase in which case please forgive my enquiry and ignore this message.

However, sometimes customers don't realise that they need to confirm the purchase with our shop after agreeing payment in PayPal - this is necessary as this tells PayPal that you want to finalise the purchase.

If you did mean to make the purchase (you will see that your PayPal account has not yet been charged) you can do this simply by clicking the PayPal button below.

If there was some other problem or you need any other information or help, please let me know.

Our main concern is to have satisfied customers and give you first class service.

--- then an appropriate payment button follows
If you want to complete your purchase you can click here to [Pay PAYPAL BUTTON] - otherwise please ignore this message.

Then a copy of the order follows =

"Now when this happens, I get a notification that there is some Carts for Recovery."

HOW are you doing this automatically? It would be great to get automatic notification when users add to cart but then close browser for some reason. I've looked again but do not see how this is configured.

Hello

This is how it works in Oscommerce.

First Screen Shot shows the Tool which can be used to check which customers have their shopping carts filled with products and still not have placed an order. It can be selected by number of days.

We can select the customer and send me an email with a predfined email or custom email.
