Hi,

Like most sites I have borders for blocks defined in the css file, but I want to remove the odd block border, and I assume I do this through the "Block CSS Class" field in page layout.

Would this be right, and would anyone know the syntax to use? I experimented with a few border commands, but because I am not very familiar with css I am not getting the result I seek.

Thanks in advance.

Five5,

I'm assuming you want to remove the border of the boxes, which is fine. What you'll need to do is create a style in .css stylesheet you're using.... maybe title it ".custom_noborder" and craete your style.

Then in the CMS within ViArt, where ever you place the custom block, there's the option on the CMS screen to use the style you just named.

Are you in US or UK? If you're in US... I can help you do this via the phone if you get a chace later today. Give me a ring at the office: 888.838.5927 ext. 2333.

Have a great Day Smile

Thanks Dan.

I created a style in the .css stylesheet.

What is the syntax I should use in the "Block CSS Class" field in the CMS screen?

I tried a number of ways, and tried calling other styles from the .ccs stylesheet, but no go. But without knowing the syntax I am just guessing here.

I'm in Oz, so missed your office hours, I will try and call tomorrow as US business hours come around again, if I cannot get it working in the meantime.

Do not add the "." before the style on the CMS area. Just the area after the "." so if it's ".Ad_Block" in the stylesheet, in the CMS tool you'd just type "Ad_Block".

Office hours are from 8am CST to 8pm CST

Thanks Dan.

It's getting there. I made a copy of the .mainTableCellLeft class and called it .mainTableCellLeftNoBorder. I am using a variation of the default stylesheet.

Called "mainTableCellLeftNoBorder" for the custom block from the CMS screen, and the style certainly changed to the new style. Although I am getting a glitch at the top of the custom block. A blank like. Looks like whenever I put a valid or invalid command in the "Block CSS Class" field this happens.

Nailed it. The issues was related to not having a title for the block.

Thanks again Dan.

okay, sounds great. If you do not have a title, yes, you need to get the title to not be displayed at all Smile If you ever need any assistance, please do not hesitate to give me a call at that number.

Sorry I couldn't get back with you sooner, I've been crazy busy with my other stuff.

See you in future forums Smile
