That will be really nice if viart could implement that feature.
 
1) Add a field that will allow the user to select is communication language while creating his account or buying
 
2) Use the current language tag method to add multi-lingual email message
e.g.: Hi! Mr. Joe. Thank you for the... [fr]Bonjour m. Joe merci d'avoir...[/fr]
 
 
With that feature each customer will receive the automated email messages on is own language.

Do you need to capture the language from the user as they have already selected their current language tag on entering the site?
So the language code is already there.
 
I would second this feature and also wish it extended to Newsletters.

This is interesting - we currently have all automated messages in both English and French on the thesis that it will be understood by almost all customers. But it is a bit cumbersome at times.
 
Being able to respond according to the wishes of the customer would be very smart.
