A login block should not be placed on http pages anyway. I have Mcafee Secure reporting and that was one of the first things it got me on when I first started it.
A customer logging in from a normal http page is not soing so using the SSL certificate and is so therefore open to prying eyes.
I simply removed the block and have a login link at the top (header) of my whole site. They can then go the https login page via that or when they go to the checkout it will do the same.
Viart should know this and I am surprised it is allowed by defualt.

Thanks for the login suggestion. I too place a login(signin) menu item on the top Navigation menu, but I did not have it go to a secure page. I have now changed the link to https:
I wish Viart would make the login page secure as a default. Now I have to change this full URL link whenever I change the store url. ie my live site is at myweb.com/store/.... but I test new store versions at myweb.com/testStore/...
