2.2.4. Installation Wizard |

After you've uploaded ViArt, you must first set the database connection type, and then specify several Admin Parameters.
Installation Wizard will guide you through the entire process.
First of all, open your web browser and go to your web site's root:
http://www.yoursite.com
or
http://localhost/your_viart_installfolder if you installed it on your PC rather than a remote server.
Installation: Step 1
The images below should be the first thing you see
Clicking an appropriate flag will set the Default Language that your ViArt site's menus will be displayed in.
This cannot be changed later (unless you edit a PHP file) so please do choose carefully. The Default language is English.
Next, you need to specify the connection settings.
Note: This example assumes you are using a mySQL database.
You are required to fill out the following fields:
- Database Type: MySQl, etc.
- Hostname: The Server name on which your database resides, usually the web server; using 'localhost' is fine in most cases.
- Port: 3306 is the usual port number but this can be left blank in most cases
- Database Name / DSN: The name of the database you have created
- Username: Your web space's admin user name
- Password: Your webs space's admin password
- Persistent Connection: Tick this to use persistent connections to your ViArt Shop
- Populate DB: Tick this to populate the Database with test data for products, etc
Clicking on the Next link will commence the database build, and show an install progress counter (see image below)
Installation: Step 2
These settings are fairly self explanatory:
- Site URL: Specify your site URL
- Administrator Email: the email address you wish site administrator messages to be sent to
- Administrator Login: Set an Administrator name for logging in to the ViArt Admin Panel.
- Administrator Password: Enter a password for the Administrator to use
- Confirm Password: Enter the above password again
Further you have to choose your Date and Time display preferences by clicking the Select form list link. See below.
Installation: Step 3
Choose one of the nine available templates: Default, Classic, Convex,
Curved, Ecommerce, Fashion, Marine, Rainbow and Silver.
The Template settings can be changed later (see section 3.4.1).
Installation: Final
And finally, click the appropriate link:
- Administration URL: Takes you straight to the Admin Panel
- Site Home URL: Takes you to your new ViArt Shop
