As a matter of fact shipping can be a real problem unless you set it up properly. If you do not want to get heaps of complaints from your customers, the delivery mechanism should run like clockwork. ViArt Shop allows setting up several shipping methods active at a time, so there will always be an alternative should a problem occur.
Since different items might require different delivery, it is a good idea to have a wide range of choice. In that case when a customer proceeds to checkout, he or she will be prompted to choose the one that gives the best fit.
To set up shipping options please go to Administration > Products > Shipping Methods. Your screen should look like the following:
Here you can see the full list of the shipping modules currently supplied with ViArt Shop. It includes the most popular ones as well as the Custom Shipping module. Besides, you are welcome to add as many new modules as you want.
The page you are at provides general shipping module management. You can:
look through the shipping module list and sort it by module ID, name or status (click the name of the column you want to sort the modules by and notice the up or down arrow next to the column name);
enable/disable a module (click the 'Yes/No' link in the 'Active' column);
proceed to sections where settings for a specific module are specified;
Note: You should distinguish a shipping module and a shipping method. The former indicates the shipper (the delivery service); the latter defines how an order will be delivered.
add a new shipping module (click the 'New Shipping Module' link at the foot of the block).
